Metformin drug has an active ingredient called Metformin Hydrochloride that helps to control the blood sugar & reacts to insulin that is produced by your body. It is used on own and combined with various other medications. The treatment helps to control the blood sugar by:

How can I take Metformin?
You can take Metformin drug after the meal. Don’t chew or crush the tablets or swallow this with water. Suppose your physician has prescribed 1 tablet daily, you can prefer taking this in morning with the breakfast. Suppose you are prescribed 2 tablets daily, then you can take 1 in morning and second one in evening with your dinner. If you are prescribed 3 doses per day, besides morning & evening, you may take this with lunch. Having Metformin with your meals can reduce the digestive problems such as nausea, indigestion, diarrhea, vomiting, and loss of appetite and stomach ache.
Are there any side effects of Metformin?
Like with all medicines out there, you will suffer a few side effects while having Metformin, particularly when you take for the first time. The common side effects that some people may experience, are:
- Loss of appetite
- Sore stomach
- Problems in digestion
- Diarrhoea
- Nausea
- Sick
- Diarrhoea

Metformin is white or off-white compound that can be soluble in water. Generally, Metformin tablet is available in tablets, which have 500mg, 850mg & 1000mg of the metformin hydrochloride with extra inactive ingredients like magnesium stearate and povidone.
